PHOTOGRAPHY

I use a camera to record images for visual ideas to use in painting and in some instances find that the photographic image works in its own right. Photography captures the objects in motion, when confronted with a moving form the camera generates incomplete images, I deliberately convert this innately damaged data into the form of prints, videos and paintings.

use my camera like a sketch book, looking for shape colour and mood within a subject,

movement is very interesting and painterly for me , it expresses and replaces

story lines in  your mind.  I also like the immediacy of a photographic

image along with the aperture the frame as a stage for the drama of light and
