The
violence of Mark making and the incomplete damaged subject matter is
apparent
DRAWING
My first practice, drawing for me is an immediate practice
which brings the mind into a creative and instinctive mode and mind set. A mental creative space.
I
like to work tonally with charcoal ink or pastels, usually using a model more
for poetic and special reference than anything physical. I sympathise with the
body, I am the body,
I
like to work fast and rely on my intuition when it comes to colour, I do not
copy colour but use colour as a tonal tool to talk about flesh, space and being.
It
is important to reinvent what I see rather than copy or illustrate, to work
like a choreographer to an invented rhythm.
